RECOMENDACIONES DE INSTALACIÓN

Incadex Working and Handling:

Incadex is a kiln-dried product which minimizes potential warp, shrinkage, and excessive cracking of hardwood when installed outdoors.

Spans for floor joists:

Finished Section

Spacing of floor joists

¾”x 3.5” 18”
¾x 5.5” 18”
1”x 5.5” 24”
1.5”x 3.5” 30”
1.5”x 5.5” 36”

Protect Incadex under shade until ready to install.

Ventilation:

We suggest having approximately 5.0% of the entire installation area free and available for use as a net ventilation area. This is vital for the stability of the floor over the years, as it prevents the formation of mold and wood-rotting fungi underneath.

Gapping:

Incadex is a kiln-dried product; therefore, its shrinkage is very low. The minimum space between planks should be 3/16"; but we recommend 1/4". A 1/4" space provides 5.0% net ventilation coverage of the floor installed.

Fastening:

We suggest using high grade stainless steel screws (to prevent wood from staining with rust) or the fasteners clad with 2 screws per joist. Pre-drill holes in the Incadex before driving the screws, particularly, at the end of the plank where cracking is most common. The length suggested for the fastener should be two and a half times (or more) thicker than the product in order to ensure proper fastening.

Cutting:

Use a tungsten carbide saw and high quality drill-bits to ensure a clean cut of the wood, free of splinters or burns. After each cut and before installation, we suggest applying a sealer at the end of each piece. Ask your building supply center for a list of the products they have in stock.

Finishing:

Before any finish is applied, clean and wipe off any residue from the surface of the floor. Use penetrating oil-based sealer for best results. These products help the color to become stable and preserved.

We do our best to provide accurate and reliable information to the buyer, but given the nature of natural products, we shall not be responsible if Incadex is not proper for a particular use. It is the owner and installer’s responsibility to test and determine the suitability of the product for the final application.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional information.
